The licence for the station DB0LJ was already in our hands before founding
this group officially. This licence is from 7.oct.1986, one of the oldest
licences for automatical packet radio stations in Germany and was given
to the youth organisation of Rheinland-Pfalz.
DL5DI took this licence shortly later.
Before this DL5DI already run DB0IU, which was a station with a licence
for a 2m-RTTY-BBS (radio teletype) with a special entry which allowed to
run Packet-Radio for test. Packet radio at that time was a totally
new and unknown mode in amateur radio in Germany. After moving all automatical
working packet radio stations from 2m band to 70cm the licence and callsign
changed.
We are proud to be one of the first groups who founded the packet radio
network in Germany and Europe.
Since january 2003 we also run a PACTOR<->Packet-Radio-GateWay in
the shortwave bands. The callsign is DA5UDI.
This station has a wired connection to the packet-radio digipeater
DB0LJ and allows depending on the rf-conditions on the shortwave bands
access from whole of Europe and other areas in the world to our services
in all Pactor modes. More details can be found on this webpage.
The Packet-Radio-Group Mittelrhein is an officially at the local government in Andernach/Rhein registered organisation.
The main goal of our organisation is the installation, maintenance,
financial support and modernisation of our automatic amateur radio stations
and the technical support of other stations in our neighbourhood.
With the help of the other local amateur radio organisations we want
to keep the packet-radio network in our area at the newest technical level.
The group has about 25 registered members and a lot more friends supporting us.
The member fees do not cover our costs for electrical energy, insurance,
repairs and new equipment, so we are depending on donations for our work.
Please find our donation information
here. Thank you very much for supporting us !
Please enjoy our website services and leave a comment in our guest
book.
Best regards
Hans, DL5DI
